From a small workshop in the heart of Europe to thousands of homes around the world.
The Beginning
A Passion Project That Grew Into a Studio
It started in 2009, in a cramped but beloved workshop in Vienna. Thomas Bauer, a trained cabinetmaker with an obsession for grain patterns and joinery, started making shelves for his own apartment. His friends noticed. Then their friends noticed. Then the internet noticed.
Within three years, what began as a side project had become a full-time studio. Today, WoodCraft Studio employs six master craftsmen and has shipped over 2,400 pieces to homes across Europe.
We still work from the same philosophy: every piece should be beautiful, functional, and built to outlast the trends.

We work with a carefully curated selection of hardwoods including European walnut, oak, ash, cherry, and maple — all sourced from FSC-certified forests. For cutting boards we exclusively use food-safe hardwoods with tight grain patterns that resist bacteria. We never use softwoods or engineered wood for structural pieces.
Can I order a custom size or design?+
Absolutely! Custom orders are our speciality. We can create any size, add laser engravings, mix wood species for contrast, and accommodate virtually any design idea. Simply fill in our contact form or click "Get a Quote" and our team will get back to you with a quote within 24 hours. Lead time for custom pieces is typically 2–3 weeks.
How do I care for my wooden products?+
For cutting boards: wash by hand with warm soapy water, never soak or put in a dishwasher. Oil monthly with food-grade mineral oil. For shelves and décor: dust regularly and apply a light coat of natural wax once or twice a year. Keep all pieces away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent warping.
What is your delivery time?+
In-stock items are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Standard EU delivery takes 2–5 business days. We offer express 24-hour delivery to most EU countries for an additional fee. Custom orders typically ship within 2–3 weeks of order confirmation. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Do you ship outside the EU?+
Yes! We ship worldwide. Delivery to the UK, Switzerland, Norway takes 3–7 business days. Intercontinental deliveries (USA, Canada, Australia) take 7–14 business days. Please note that international orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the buyer's responsibility.
What is your return policy?+
We offer a 30-day hassle-free return policy on all standard (non-custom) items in their original condition. To initiate a return, contact us at [email protected]. We'll arrange collection at our cost if the item arrived damaged or defective. Custom-made items are non-refundable unless faulty.
Are your products safe for food contact?+
Yes! All our cutting boards and food-contact items are finished with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax — completely non-toxic. We never use polyurethane or chemical lacquers on items that will touch food. Our finishes comply with EU food safety regulations (Regulation EC No 1935/2004).
Do you offer a warranty?+
Yes. Our wooden shelves and structural pieces come with a 15-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Cutting boards and décor items carry a 2-year warranty. The warranty covers structural failures and finish defects under normal use conditions, but does not cover damage from water, improper care, or accidental damage.
Can I visit your workshop?+
Yes, we love visitors! Our workshop in Vienna is open Monday to Friday 9–18 and Saturday 10–15. You're welcome to browse our full collection in person, watch the craftsmen at work, and even participate in occasional woodworking workshops. Just give us a call before visiting.
Do you offer wholesale or bulk discounts?+
We work with interior designers, hotels, restaurants, and retail shops. For orders of 10+ identical items, we offer a 15% discount. For 25+ items, we can discuss custom pricing. Please reach out via our contact form with the subject "Wholesale Inquiry" and we'll get back to you with a tailored proposal.
